JPMorgan Chase Insider Accused of Embezzling $73,200 From Customer Accounts, Altering Bank Records To Hide the Theft

A JPMorgan Chase employee is facing accusations of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from the bank’s customers while working as an associate banker at the trillion-dollar lender. According to the U.S. Treasury’s Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Shaira Ahmed embezzled $73,200 from the accounts of JPMorgan Chase customers while serving in her capacity as an associate banker at America’s largest bank’s Richmond Hill branch in New York. “By reason of the foregoing conduct, Respondent [Ahmed] engaged in violations of law, which resulted in financial gain to Respondent and loss or risk of loss to the Bank. Respondent’s misconduct demonstrated personal dishonesty.” The OCC says Ahmed embezzled the funds over a roughly two-month period between January 15th of 2025 and March 22nd of 2025.
